Australian locust control in full swing

The authorities in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) have carried out aerial spraying operations on nearly 60,000 ha as part of the state government’s efforts to control the latest locust outbreak. There have been surveillance flights covering some 5 million ha. Enough pesticides are available to protect some 250,000 ha through aerial and on-farm applications, the state Department of Primary Industries says.
