Spanish persimmon growers get new agchem

Spanish persimmon growers are to get a new fungicide for the control of leaf spot ( Mycosphaerella nawai). Researchers from the Valencia-based Spanish Polytechnic University and the Mediterranean Agroforestal Institute found that the disease is controlled by employing the fungicides, pyraclostrobin and mancozeb. The regional Agriculture Ministry funded the research. It has since granted the researchers an exceptional use authorisation for a product containing the active ingredients.
