Mexico and Morocco OK iodomethane

Mexico and Morocco have granted approval for Arysta LifeScience’s fumigant, iodomethane. It is to be marketed in both countries in combination with chloropicrin, as Midas, for use as a drip application. Iodomethane is a broad-spectrum soil fumigant that controls soil-borne diseases, nematodes, weed seeds and insects. The fumigant was developed as a replacement for methyl bromide, use of which is to end by 2015 under the Montreal Protocol.
