MAI resolves worker disputes at agchem plants

Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI) has resolved industrial disputes at subsidiary plants in Ashdod, Israel. The strikes had been called by two unions at the insecticide and fungicide plant, Makhteshim Chemical Works, and at the herbicide manufacturer, Agan Chemical Manufacturer. The dispute arose out of the takeover talks with Chinese government-owned China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina), with which MAI has an “agreement in principle” ( Agrow No 602, p 2).
