EU provisional approvals extended for spirotetramat
The European Commission has allowed EU member states to extend provisional approvals for Bayer CropScience’s insecticide, spirotetramet, until December 31st 2012. The approvals are initially granted for three years. However, further data were requested for the EU evaluation and more time is needed for the assessment to be completed, the Commission says. The extension was cleared by the EU regulatory committee in October ( Agrow No 602, p 14). Spirotetramat holds provisional approvals in Austria and the UK.
