Agchem business down in major Chinese province
Agrochemical production fell by 6.3% in the Chinese province of Zhejiang in the first nine months of 2010 compared with the corresponding period last year. It manufactured 280,216 tonnes of active ingredients, according to the Zhejiang Agrochemical Industry Association. The manufacturing figures cover 54 ais, including 18 insecticides (26,105 tonnes), 17 fungicides (34,768 tonnes), 17 herbicides (213,962 tonnes) and two plant growth regulators (5,382 tonnes). Zhejiang is China's largest producer of herbicides, and one of the two dominant Chinese pesticide manufacturing provinces.
