Syngenta takes over Greenleaf Genetics
Syngenta has taken over full ownership of the US trait licensing joint venture, Greenleaf Genetics (Omaha, Nebraska), thereby ending a four-year partnership with DuPont. The business was set up by Syngenta in 2004 but became a joint venture between Syngenta Seeds and DuPont seed subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International in 2006 ( Agrow No 494, p 1). The venture aimed to license maize and soybean germplasm and biotechnology traits from the two partners to third parties in the US and Canada. It becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Syngenta Seeds.
