US to approve Valent's imazosulfuron
The US EPA has proposed the registration of Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary Valent USA Corporation’s (Walnut Creek, California) sulfonylurea herbicide, imazosulfuron. It plans to approve two 75% water-dispersible granule formulations. V-10142 Ag is for use on tomatoes, peppers and rice, while V-10142 is for residential and commercial turf. V-10142 Ag is for pre-and post-emergence use at up to 0.3 lb ai/acre (0.3 kg/ha), with a single ground application for tomatoes and peppers, and two ground or aerial applications for rice. V-10142 is for post-emergence use on turf at 0.4-0.7 lb ai/acre (0.4-0.8 kg/ha). Two ground applications would be allowed. The decision is open to public comment until December 9th.
