Monsanto opens US cotton research unit
Monsanto has opened a $10.5 million US cotton breeding and research facility in Lubbock, Texas. The Monsanto Texas Cotton Breeding and Technology Center has been built on a 12.2 acre (4.9 ha) site within the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance Business Park. It will house about 20 full-time staff. Texas accounts for about 50% of the US cotton acreage, Monsanto points out.
