Koppert to debut larval biocontrols in 2011
The Dutch biological control company, Koppert Biological Systems (Berkel en Rodenrijs), is to mass produce two larval parasitoids for the control of leaf miners ( Tuta absoluta). The company expects them to be on the market in time for the summer planting season in 2011 in the Mediterranean region. It has been collaborating with researchers in South America, which is the area of origin of T absoluta. That has led to evaluation of an exotic larval parasitoid at the company’s R&D facilities.
