Japan's 11-month agchem sales dip
Japanese agrochemical sales fell a by a slight 0.3% to ¥316,908 million ($3,828 million at the current rate) in the 11 months to August 31st 2010, according to the Japan Crop Protection Association. This continues a recovering trend, as sales were 6.3% lower for the first six months of the pesticide year (ending September 30th), and 2.7% behind for the first nine months ( Agrow No 601, p 33). Volume declines for the 11-month period were steeper, down 4.8% to 184,086 tonnes. However, this was an improvement on the 10% fall for the first six months and the 6.9% for the first nine months ( Agrow ibid).
