Canada posts Monsanto's dicamba-tolerant soya
The Canadian authorities have notified an application from Monsanto for the approval of genetically modified dicamba-tolerant MON87708 soybeans. The company applied to the Canadian Food Inspection Service and Health Canada for unconfined release for commercial planting and food and feed use. The application is open to public comment until March 10th. Monsanto completed US and Canadian submissions last year. It plans to combine dicamba tolerance with glyphosate-tolerant Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans ( Agrow No 607, p 5).
