Biogemma advances Evogene trait

The French genomics company, Biogemma (Paris), will advance a yield and drought tolerance trait licensed from Israeli firm Evogene (Rehovet) in its maize development programme. The move marks an important milestone in a research collaboration that began in 2006, Evogene points out. The companies entered into gene licensing deal in March 2010 ( Agrow No 588, p 27), with an extension agreed at the end of the year ( Agrow No 607, p 26).
