KeyGene/LemnaTec open phenotyping facility
Dutch agricultural biotechnology company Keygene (Wageningen) and German scientific imaging company LemnaTec (Aachen) have opened a joint contract research phenotyping facility in Wageningen. The PhenoFab facility will address crop improvement “bottleneck” issues arising from the need for more effective and reliable phenotyping data. The facility includes a fully automated greenhouse with an average capacity of 1,100 plants on the conveyor belt system. It has three different imaging stations, enabling automated 3D image analysis in visible light, near infra-red light (enabling water content measurements) and fluorescent light (enabling the visualisation of fluorescent substances).
