Annual review (Latin America): Agchems remain on regulatory hooks
The Brazilian agrochemical market stabilised in 2010 following its 2009 fall from the previous record-breaking year. The industry reported a reverse of around 7% for 2009 against 2008, when it became the world’s largest agrochemical market. Sales were running steady in US dollar terms last year despite rising sales in the national currency. However, volumes were hitting new records. Prices were lagging as stocks were being cleared. The industry reported volumes topping a million tonnes in the previous year.
