US EPA posts changes to human testing rule
The US EPA proposes to amend part of it rules governing studies involving intentional exposure of human subjects to pesticides. The move follows last year’s settlement of a lawsuit over the EPA’s 2006 regulations ( Agrow No 594, p 16). The proposed amendments would broaden the applicability of the rules to testing carried out under any of the statutes that it administers. They would also ban studies on subjects who cannot consent for themselves.
