US firm fined over illegal bedbug control
The Department of Environmental Protection for the US state of New Jersey has fined TVF Pest Control (Newark) $860,000 for the illegal application of pesticides to control bedbugs. An investigation by the Department last year found that the company had applied the insecticides, malathion and carbaryl, in at least 50 residences. Neither insecticide is approved for indoor use. The investigation found that TVF falsified documents to omit a record of their use of the pesticides for bedbug control.
