Brazil Anvisa registers orthosulfamuron
Brazil’s national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has listed Italian agrochemical company Isagro’s rice herbicide, orthosulfamuron, in its register of active ingredients. The agency recommended its approval in November last year pending a comment period ( Agrow No 606, p 24). Full registration for marketing requires the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture. Orthosulfamuron was first approved in the US in 2007.
