Bayer/Wilbur-Ellis US herbicide deal
Bayer CropScience has granted the US agrochemical distributor, Wilbur-Ellis (San Francisco, California), exclusive US marketing rights to the herbicide, propoxycarbazone-sodium, for certain non-edible crop uses. Wilber-Ellis plans to introduce the herbicide as Canter R&P for the rangeland, pasture and conservation reserve programme sectors this quarter. Bayer views the collaboration as a means of extending the use of the herbicide to the “untapped range and pasture segments”. Bayer introduced propoxycarbazone in the US as the cereal herbicide, Olympus, in 2004 ( Agrow No 454, p 22).
