Syngenta to launch triple-stack maize in Brazil
Syngenta is to launch its insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant Bt11xMIR162xGA21 (Viptera 3110) maize in Brazil for the 2011/12 season. The Brazilian authorities have ratified the approval of Syngenta’s triple-stack maize. Syngenta Seeds director Davor Pisk notes that the approval is the first for a triple stack in Brazil. “This demonstrates our capacity to bring innovative technology to the marketplace,” he says. The national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, recommended the product’s approval at its November 2010 meeting ( Agrow No 605, p 21). The government ratified that at the end of January.
