Gowan makes acquisition in Chile
US agrochemical company Gowan’s international operation, Gowan Comércio Internacional e Serviços, has taken over Chilean pesticide supplier Agro Technology (Santiago). Gowan Comercio’s Chilean subsidiary, GCIS Chile, acquired a majority stake in the company. The investment expands GCIS’s presence on the South American crop protection markets, it says. GCIS business development manager Sergio Comparini welcomes the acquisition. “Chile is a … leading country in fresh fruit production, and Gowan is excited to play an important role in providing crop protection solutions to Chile’s growers,” he says. Mr Comparini says the business will focus on the fruit, grapevine and vegetables markets.
