Agchem imports flat for 2010 in Brazil
Brazilian imports of agrochemicals were flat in 2010 at some 231,967 tonnes, the national agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindag, confirms. Imports in the final three months of last year amounted to 73,212 tonnes. All segments bar herbicides recorded a rise in annual imports. They were down around 9% mainly due to lower volumes of glyphosate, Sindag market information chief Ivan Amancio Sampaio says. Aggregate herbicides still made up more than half of imports, he adds.
