Arcadia/SESVanderHave in new beet deal
US plant biotechnology company Arcadia Biosciences (Davis, California) and Belgian sugar beet breeders SESVanderHave (Tienen) have signed an agreement to develop water efficient sugar beet. SESVanderHave receives exclusive global rights to the use of Arcadia’s water efficiency technology in sugar beet. Arcadia receives an undisclosed payment prior to commercialisation of any products, and a share of the commercial revenues. The deal is an extension of earlier agreements in 2007 covering the development of nitrogen use efficient sugar beet.
