Greece grants Bayer insecticides emergency use
Greece has granted 120-day emergency use approvals for two Bayer CropScience insecticides. Poncho 60 FS (clothianidin) is for the control of western corn rootworms ( Diabrotica virgifera) on maize. Belt 24 WG (Nihon Nohyaku’s flubendiamide) is for the control of tomato leaf miners ( Tuta absoluta) on greenhouse tomatoes. Greece provisionally approved flubendiamide in 2008 ( Agrow No 581, p 23), and similar approvals have been granted for the use of the active ingredient. The approvals were issued in January.
