US industry seeks role in ESA suit

The US industry association, CropLife America (CLA), and affiliated groups have filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit by environmentalist groups against the EPA over its alleged failure to address risks from pesticides to endangered species. The Center for Biological Diversity and Pesticide Action Network of North America filed the action in January. They accused the Agency of failing to consult the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries service on the effects of more than 300 pesticides on 214 threatened or endangered species ( Agrow No 608, p 12).
