US tolerance exemption for <i>A flavus</i> on maize

The US EPA has granted a tolerance exemption for the biofungicide, Aspergillus flavus strain AF36, for maize. Last year, the EPA notified receipt of an application from the Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council to extend the use of the biofungicide to maize ( Agrow No 586, p 15). It is used for the control of aflatoxin-producing strains of A flavus. The biofungicide was approved for use on cotton in 2003 ( Agrow No 427, p 20).
