Australia to OK Bayer's foramsulfuron
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has proposed the approval of Bayer CropScience’s herbicide, Tribute (foramsulfuron 22.5 g/litre), for use on turf. It is for the control of winter grass ( Poa annua), ryegrass ( Lolium perenne), crowsfoot grass ( Eleusine indica) and hybrid couchgrass ( Cynodon dactylon x C transvaalensis). The APVMA has also recommended the approval of foramsulfuron as a new active ingredient. Bayer introduced the ai, as Revolver, for use on turf in the US in 2003. The herbicide is sold widely in Europe and the Americas for use on maize. The APVMA decisions are subject to 28-day comment periods from March 29th.
