Bayer debuts fluopicolide fungicides in Peru

Bayer CropScience has launched two fluopicolide-based combination fungicides in Peru. The company introduced Trivia (fluopicolide + propineb) earlier this year, following the debut of Infinito (fluopicolide + propamocarb hydrochloride) late last year. They are for use on potatoes for the control of late blight ( Phytophthora infestans). Trivia is a wettable powder formulation, which is also marketed for use on vegetables against downy mildew and can be used as a resistance management tool, the company says. Infinito is a suspension concentrate formulation and has been approved in several markets for use on potatoes. Its first South American authorisation came in 2007 in Colombia. The first global approvals were granted by the UK and Chinese authorities in 2005 ( Agrow No 485, p 21).
