Monsanto ups investment in Brazilian plant
Monsanto is investing an extra $25 million at its Brazilian agrochemical plant at Sao Jose dos Campos in the state of Sao Paulo. The release of funds will be over the next five years, and started with a commemoration this month celebrating the plant’s 35 years of operation. It was Monsanto’s first plant in the country, and the first outside of the US to produce the company’s Roundup Ready (glyphosate) herbicide. The company is the only producer of glyphosate in Brazil, it notes. The plant produces granular and liquid formulations.
