Eighteen more ais re-registered in EU at second attempt
More companies have been successful in gaining EU re-registration as the authorities continue to work through the large numbers of resubmitted active ingredient dossiers with additional data. The European Commission has confirmed authorisations for 18 ais: the botanical insecticide, azadirachtin (resubmitted by GAB Consulting on behalf of Trifolio-M, Sipcam and Mitsui AgriScience International); the acaricides, fenazaquin (Gowan) and hexythiazox (Nisso Chemical Europe); the herbicides, carbetamide (Feinchemie Schwebda), diclofop (Bayer CropScience) and fluometuron (Makhteshim-Agan Industries and Nufarm); the plant growth regulators, paclobutrazol (Syngenta) and sintofen (JSC International); the fungicides, carboxin (Chemtura), cyproconazole (Syngenta), dithianon (BASF), flutriafol (Cheminova), lime sulfur (Polisenio) and pencycuron (Bayer); the bactericide, aluminium sulfate (Chrysal International); the fumigant, dazomet (Kanesho Soil Treatment); the molluscicide, metaldehyde (Lonza); and the rodenticide, bromadiolone (LiphaTech). The companies had temporarily withdrawn the ais from the EU review of existing ais after the initial evaluations identified data gaps. They resubmitted their applications in 2009 ( Agrow passim).
