Three biocides set for EU approval
The insecticides, abamectin and imidacloprid, and the wood preservative, 4,5-dichloro-2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, are set to receive EU biocide approval, following clearance by EU Agriculture Ministers. The European Commission is now free to adopt its proposed approvals, provided the European Parliament has no objections. The active ingredients will be added on July 1st 2013 to Annex I of the EU biocidal products Directive (98/8), which covers non-crop pesticides.
