Australia to approve Syngenta's Revus
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Syngenta’s fungicide, Revus (mandipropamid 250 g/litre), for the control of downy mildew ( Plasmopara viticola) on grapevines. Mandipropamid would be approved as a new active ingredient in the country. The fungicide received its first approvals in Austria and South Korea in 2006 ( Agrow No 506, p 21). It has since been registered elsewhere in Europe, the Americas and Asia. The APVMA’s approval decision is subject to a 28-day public comment period from May 24th.
