Sumitomo to expand flumioxazin production
Sumitomo Chemical is to expand production capacity for its herbicide, flumioxazin. A new production line will be constructed at its existing Japanese facility at Oita and is expected to start operating between July and September 2012. The move is in response to increasing demand, partly due to larger soybean areas, the company says. It anticipates the expanded production to boost sales of flumioxazin and derivative products by “several tens of billions of yen per year”.
