Brazil Anvisa OKs soybean biofungcide

Brazilian toxicology authorities have recommended the approval for sale of the biofungicide, Trichoderma asperellum. The national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has added T asperellum strain T211 (CBMAI 840), to its list of approved active ingredients. It is for use as a post-planted soil application on soybeans and as a foliar application on beans for the control of several diseases. They include potato dry rot ( Fusarium solani), potato stem canker ( Rhizoctonia solani), sclerotinia rot and white mould (both Sclerotinia sclerotiorum). Full commercial approval requires the assent of the Ministry of Agriculture.
