US approval for DuPont's Prevathon
DuPont has received has received US approval for the insecticide, Prevathon (chlorantraniliprole 52 g/litre), on maize and cotton. The suspension concentrate formulation is for use on maize at 14-20 fl oz/acre (1-1.5 litres/ha) and on cotton at 14-29 fl oz/acre for the control of a range of lepidopteran pests. DuPont received its first US approvals for chlorantraniliprole (trade-marked as Rynaxypyr), as Coragen and Altacor for fruit and vegetable crops in 2008 ( Agrow No 543, p 22). It is also sold as Acelepryn in the turf and ornamental market, and as Dermacor-X as a rice seed treatment.
