Syngenta India faces prosecution on emamectin imports

The Indian Central Insecticides Board’s Registration Committee (RC) has decided to prosecute Syngenta India for irregularities related to the import of the insecticide, emamectin benzoate. The issue refers to the import of a 5% soluble granule formulation in 2007, when the company did not have the requisite approval to do so ( Agrow No 612, p 23). A personal hearing was given to company representatives before the RC to clarify the violations after a review was initiated in March.
