US to approve Bayer termite pheromone
The US EPA has proposed the registration of Bayer CropScience’s termite pheromone, Penta-Termanone. The new active ingredient is composed of five long-chain hydrocarbon compounds. It is intended for formulation into products combining a biochemical and a conventional insecticide for use as a soil termiticide. The proposed registration is subject to a 30-day comment period until July 1st.
