Dow/Danforth biotechnology deal
Dow AgroSciences has entered into a non-exclusive sublicensing deal with the US Donald Danforth Plant Science Center for the use of gene expression technology in the development of genetically modified disease-resistant cassava. The technology was developed by the US Scripps Research Institute and licensed exclusively to Dow. The Danforth group is developing cassava with resistance to cassava mosaic virus and cassava brown streak disease. Dow began collaborating on the project group in early 2010 ( Agrow No 584, p 3).
