Brazil court provisionally cancels cyhexatin ban
Italian agrochemical company Sipcam-Oxon has won a legal challenge to the ban on the sale and use of the acaricide cyhexatin in Brazil. The Federal Justice Court of the Distrito Federal (national capital) has cancelled national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa's, re-evaluation of the active ingredient. The court found the agency had not followed correct procedures, Sipcam says. The decision is to be reviewed by the Superior Court, the company cautions. If the judgment is confirmed, the Anvisa will have to reassess the toxicology of the active ingredient.
