MAI preliminary Q2 sales up 20%
Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI) posted over a 20% increase in total second-quarter sales to $723 million, according to its preliminary results. There is no agrochemical breakdown in the preliminary figures. Agrochemical sales accounted for 92% of second-quarter sales last year at $554 million ( Agrow No 598, pp 6-7). Operating profit on all business is expected to almost double (+98%) to $87 million, while net profit is expected to have risen more than three-fold to $45 million. MAI is to post its full second-quarter results next week.
