US to OK Syngenta's isopyrazam for imports
The US EPA has proposed an import tolerance for Syngenta’s fungicide, isopyrazam (trade-marked as IZM), on bananas. The fungicide is used in a number of Central and South American countries for the control of black sigatoka ( Mycosphaerella fijiensis) on bananas, the EPA notes. Syngenta received its first approval for isopyrazam in the UK for use on barley in 2010 ( Agrow No 589, p 25). The US import tolerance decision is open to public comment until September 1st.
