Mexico OKs agchem approval renewals
The Mexican toxicology authority, the Cofepris, has approved the renewal of some 93% of those pesticides and plant nutrition products that were registered for five years from 2005. The renewals would be for another five years if confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture. The authority received 72 pesticide and 38 fertiliser registration renewal requests. Of those, it has approved 102 while the rest remain in the authorisation process, which it aims to speed up. Forty-six Mexican and other companies presented their applications on time, allowing the import and export of the products, the Cofepris adds. The authority is part of the Ministry of Health.
