US import tolerances for Nissan's amisulbrom

The US EPA proposes to establish import tolerances for Nissan Chemical’s fungicide, amisulbrom, for tomatoes and grapevines. It is for the control of oomycete fungi such as late blight ( Phytophthora infestans) on potatoes and tomatoes and downy mildew ( Plasmopara viticola) on grapevines. Amisulbrom was introduced in the UK for use on potatoes in 2008 following its first global registration there ( Agrow No 545, p 22). Approvals followed in Germany, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea ( Agrow No 595, p 5). The US approval decision is open to public comment until September 14th.
