US approval for Syngenta's Daconil Action

Syngenta has received US approval for a product combining its established fungicide, Daconil (chlorothalonil), with its disease resistance activator, acibenzolar-S-methyl, for use on turf. Daconil Action (chlorothalonil 732 g/litre + acibenzolar-S-methyl 13 g/litre) controls a range of turf diseases including anthracnose and dollar spot. Syngenta forerunner Novartis received the first US approvals for acibenzolar-S-methyl in 2000 ( Agrow No 361, p 21).
