More GM cereal tests in Australia

The Australian research organisation, the CSIRO, has applied to the Australian Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) to conduct small-scale field tests of genetically modified wheat and barley expressing disease resistance and various output traits. The CSIRO proposes to test 232 GM wheat lines and 41 GM barley lines at a CSIRO research facility in the Australian Capital Territory between May 2012 and June 2017. Tests would cover a maximum of 2.3 ha per year.
