Dow invests in Australian wheat breeder
Dow AgroSciences has acquired an undisclosed stake in the Australian wheat breeding company, HRZ Wheats (Perth, Western Australia). It focuses on the development of high-rainfall zone wheat varieties. Dow and HRZ will exchange wheat germplasm, while HRZ will gain access to advanced breeding services, technologies and funding to help accelerate the delivery of superior wheat varieties to Australian farmers, the companies point out. Other investors in HRZ include the Australian research organisation, the CSIRO, and the Grains Research Development Council.
