Pioneer to set up Ukraine logistics facility
DuPont seed subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International is building a logistics facility at Stasi in the Poltava province of Ukraine, reports Hungarian newswire Agro Napló. Being built with an investment of $10 million, it will contain a 4,000 m 2 warehouse and will employ 15 full-time staff. The company expects it to be operational in time for the 2012 sales season for maize, sunflower and oilseed rape. The company reportedly opened a research centre in Ukraine in 2009 for testing and developing maize, sunflower and oilseed rape hybrids.
