Shandong Dacheng opens joint chemical laboratory
Chinese agrochemical company Shandong Dacheng Pesticide opened a fine chemical laboratory in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics last month. The laboratory will help the Dalian Institute expand its research into the area of agrochemicals, and provide a platform for Dacheng to “upgrade and replace” its existing pesticide product line, the company says. Shandong Dacheng has an annual pesticide output of some 30,000 tonnes. It made an operating loss of Yuan 258.4 million ($40.4 million at the current rate) in the first half of this year ( Agrow No 624, p 17).
