Hunan Haili invests in carbamate pesticides
Chinese chemical company Hunan Haili Chemical Industry will make an additional investment of Yuan 44.6 million ($7 million at the current rate) towards an ongoing pesticide technology upgrade project, reports the national newswire, the China Chemical News. The company hopes that this project will solidify its “leading position” as a carbamate insecticide manufacturer. Hunan Haili has in total invested over Yuan 79 million ($12.4 million) in a carbamate insecticide plant in Changde, Hunan province, which is entering trial production. After it commences full operation, the plant will have a manufacturing capacity of: 1,000 tonnes/year for propoxur; 4,000 tonnes/year for carbosulfan; 5,000 tonnes/year for fenobucarb; 3,000 tonnes/year for isoprocarb; and 10,000 tonnes/year for the pesticide intermediate, phosgene.
