UK FSA questions study linking Cry1Ab in blood to GM foods

The UK Food Standards Agency's (FSA’s) Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes has questioned the relevance and validity of study findings of traces of the herbicides, glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium, and the insecticidal BtCry1Ab toxin in blood samples from women and their newborn babies in Quebec, Canada. The study by Aziz Aris and Samuel Leblanc was reported as posing safety concerns for human health as the authors attributed their findings to consumption of food derived from genetically modified crops.
